Job Summary:

Data Engineers contribute to the decision making process within the organization by extracting relevant data sets and assisting in the corresponding analysis. Under limited supervision they must analyze data and turn it into actionable information. They are expected to produce quality business intelligence reports that allow for quick interpretation of the underlying content within the data. A Data Engineer must be able to communicate their results in a coherent manner

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write complex SQL queries to produce relevant data sets to be used in statistical and data mining models
  • Prepare reports in a presentable fashion that combines data from various sources
  • Assist in applying data mining techniques to analyze product performance
  • Analyze, report, and present findings on the behavior trends on an ad hoc basis
  • Produce and evaluate performance metrics utilized by the company

Preferred Qualifications and/or Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • 0-3 years experience working in an analytically driven role
  • Ability to apply fundamentals in Probability and Statistics to real data
  • A track record of strong mathematical maturity
  • Some experience in Relational Database Systems and complex SQL queries
  • Some experience in at least one BI reporting tool (SSRS is a plus)
