Job Summary:

The Product Line Manager is responsible for managing the strategic definition and planning of software, hardware, or other products across the entire product lifecycle beginning from an idea  and supporting until the product is no longer in service. The Product Line Manager is responsible for defining all aspects of the product, creating and modifying the product vision, creating and managing product roadmaps, communicating customer needs and as appropriate bringing market trends to the product. The Product Line Manager will work with team members across the entire organization as well as closely with the Vice President of Product Line and the other members of the Product Line organization to align with regards to company’s priorities, vision, business-model, ROI and product deployment plans.  The Product Line Manager will also support the Product Managers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform Product Line activities as it pertains to allocated RAVE features/products

  • Create, understand, and promote the vision and roadmap of the Product Lines

  • Create and manage product roadmaps

  • Create, monitor, and manage product requirements

  • Monitor industry, consumer, and other relevant trends in support of the product line

  • Collaborate with the Product Management team on feature/product requirements

  • Ensure the critical design parameters are achieved (such as: cost, weight, MTBF)

  • Identify and help to rectify holes in product requirements and secure the appropriate help to reach closure

  • Collaborate with the appropriate cross functional teams to ensure a successful product deployment

  • Monitor product quality (features, operational, stability, reliability, etc.)

  • Establish, monitor, modify, and manage the product deployment timelines

  • Manage deviations or change requests to the product

  • Prepare for, execute, and ensure all stakeholders are aligned on the product vision and roadmap

  • Participate in the selection of vendors and procurement process, and advise management

  • Identify and take action on any “white space” areas related to the product

  • Identify process problems and advise management on solutions

  • Anticipate issues and seek resolution

  • Support customer visits, sales, and the program office

  • Represent the company during onsite/offsite customer meetings

Preferred Qualifications and/or Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • Prior Product Management experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role

  • Possess a creative eye and a good ‘product sense’

  • Prior aerospace experience

  • Technical IFE knowledge
